Educators After Dark

For Educators

Are you wild about animals? Kids aren't the only ones having fun at the zoo! This just-for-teachers night will allow you to network with educators from around the state, share ideas, and brainstorm a plan of action that encourages students to get involved. Busch Gardens' Education staff facilitates standards-based, interdisciplinary activities for grades K-12 and providestake-home curriculum.

Animal Adaptations: Come join us in December to meet professional zoo staff and investigate the park after dark. As the lights go down, see firsthand the amazing transformation of nocturnal species - and meet a few animal ambassadors with some very special traits face-to-face.

ABC's of Conservation: Next March, join us after hours to gather new ideas on how to introduce and integrate conservation into your classroom no matter what subject you teach!

This sleepover is a single night adventure that begins at 6:00pm, ends the next morning at 9:00am, and includes dinner & continental breakfast, a Camp T-shirt & water bottle for each participant. Participants sleep in one of our secure onsite venues.

 

Highlights:

  • Visit select zoo habitats after hours to view the nightlife of wildlife
  • Get acquainted with a few animal ambassadors behind the scenes
  • Roll out your sleeping bags in Tiger Lodge and catch a glimpse of endangered tigers
  • Next morning, truck across the Serengeti Plain and meet a giraffe at eye level
